Apparently, Tom Cruise had been actively pursuing the role of Ozymandias in Zack Snyder's WATCHMEN adaptation, but now isn't. Fandom collectively sighs with relief, I guess.
That said, despite being in no way a fan of the Tomkat, I would have accepted him in the role as a smug, manipulative, mass-murderer quite readily.
